Plastic Surgery includes many different types of procedures. Two broad categories include the surgical procedures and the nonsurgical procedures. The procedures can also be divided into reconstructive or cosmetic. The distinction between reconstructive and cosmetic is medical necessity. Reconstructive procedures must demonstrate medical necessity for insurance to cover them. Examples of both types of procedures are located below.
